Now, there is a native database alternative to SQLite on the iPhone. This brings the performance
of the network database model with a proven product designed for systems with limited resources.
This will allow features such as replication, circular tables, pure and hybrid in-memory databases,
use of the network and relational database models, and
more, on the iPhone.

As a working example of RDMe for the iPhone, we created the AirportSearch app which is available for free on the AppStore. This is a fully functional front end to data from OpenFlights.
The app allows you to search from over 5,000 airports, over 9,000 airlines, and over 50,000 routes connecting them, instantly. It utilizes features of RDMe and the network database model, such as sets, to optimize performance. For a detailed technical explanation of how the app works, please see here.
