Birdstep Technology Selected for Maritime Helicopter Project
General Dynamics Canada will use Birdstep's RDM Embedded Database to Manage the Flow and Exchange of Mission Critical Data.
SEATTLE/OSLO- November 7, 2006- Birdstep Technology (OSE: BIRD) today announced General Dynamics Canada, a member of the Sikorsky Aircraft-led Maritime Helicopter Team, has selected Birdstep to deliver its' RDM Embedded database management system as part of the Maritime Helicopter Project (MHP). RDM Embedded will provide database management for the Maritime Helicopter Project (MHP) consisting of several components including the Mission Data Management System (MDMS), Mission Preparation and Analysis Service (MPAS) System, MPAS Integrated Information Environment and Mission Procedures Trainer & Support System.
General Dynamics Canada is developing the MDMS to be used aboard the Sikorsky CH148 Cyclone medium-lift helicopter to manage the flow and exchange of mission critical data between ground, ship and airborne forces. The CH148 will be multi-mission capable and will perform anti-submarine patrols, surveillance and ship-borne duties, and a wide range of utility roles such as search and rescue support, cargo and personnel transport, and disaster relief support. Birdstep's RDM Embedded Data Management solution was selected for its reliability, flexibility, and speed.
