Birdstep announced award by MDA to supply its latest release of the RDM Embedded Database
Birdstep Technology (OSE: BIRD) today announced MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), has selected Birdstep's RDM Embedded version 7.1 to provide database management for the Pegasus Aeronautical Information System (AIS) workstations. This system provides pilots with reliable mission critical flight information.
Birdstep's newest 7.1 release of the RDM Embedded Data Management solution was selected for the aeronautical information system due to the product's maturity and stability, predictable high performance, and support for the most current Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Miu Leung, MDA Program Manager for Aeronautical Information Systems said, "Birdstep supports the most current and popular operating systems, which is important to our AIS customers when engaging in their aeronautical system upgrades. Predictable performance is also critical to our customers. Birdstep's network model architecture gives us performance we can rely on regardless of how large the database grows".
"RDM Embedded is chosen for aerospace applications because it provides the performance, reliability, and functionality mandatory for critical flight information systems", remarked Steinar Sande, Birdstep Technology, Inc. CEO.
