Steinar Sande has 22 years of solid experience in sales and business development from international
companies such as IBM, Sun and Computer Associates. Mr Sande joined Birdstep in April 2000. Sande
has run the database business in EMEA for several years, successfully building new business. He
relocated to Seattle in early 2004 and is now the CEO of the database division.
Bill Houglum

Bill Houglum brings nearly 30 years of commercial software development experience to the company and
has been with Raima Database product line since 1996. Mr. Houglum joined Birdstep in 2001 following
the acquisition of the Raima Database product line and directed the QA department for several years
before moving into the current position of managing the Engineering, QA and Customer Support
departments.

Duncan Bates has more than 14 years experience in professional software development and delivering
innovative products. Mr. Bates joined Birdstep in June 2000 running field engineering in EMEA for
several years before relocating to Seattle in early 2004 and moving into his current position.
